Updated on March 4th: The Lyndon Outing Club has partnered with Jesse Holden of NEK Endurance to bring a 6 Hour Uphill Bonanza to the hill on Saturday, March 13th. The event will be a test of grit and determination as single participants and teams will see how many times they can skin up and ski back down the hill in 6 hours. If you do not own a ski touring setup, there will also be the option to hike or snowshoe up and back down. In the singles event, after every trip up and down the participant’s lap will be counted. In the team, event members will take turns doing laps in any way they see fit. NEK Endurance will be donating all proceeds from registration to the Lyndon Outing Club to help them continue their mission of providing low-cost skiing to the Northeast Kingdom community. The LOC is an all volunteer-run nonprofit ski hill in continuous operation since 1937. Every descent from the summit offers stunning views of the Northeast Kingdom.

NEK Endurance will have a hydration station, and there will be food, music, and plenty of cheering going on. Participants are encouraged to bring camp chairs/coolers and whatever they need to set up outside of their cars during the event. And yes, folks, there will be prizes for the best costume, so break out your dino onesies.

Demos

Mountain Ops Outdoor Gear Store, out of Stowe, will be in attendance with demos, swag, and some prizes from Julbo Eyewear and Dynafit.

A Message from Jesse Holden

As a local kid, I grew up with the Lyndon Outing Club as the spot to go to hang out with friends and get some turns in. My brother worked there as a lift attendant, and I have been going to events there for years. For these reasons, the Lyndon Outing club holds a special place in my heart, and I want to give back to such an incredible organization. That is why I decided to run this event and hopefully raise some money for the Outing Club.

I have been participating in and helping with endurance events for the past ten years; the participant’s and volunteers’ positivity and the connections I have made at these events are unmatched in any other venue I have been in. Thus, I hope to launch NEK Endurance, which would host more events like this one around the Northeast Kingdom!
