The Lyndon Outing Club has partnered with Jesse Holden of NEK Endurance to bring the third annual 6-Hour Uphill Bonanza to the hill on Saturday, March 4th, from 10 AM – 4 PM. The event will test grit and determination as single participants and teams will see how many times they can skin up and ski back down the hill in 6 hours. If you do not own a ski touring setup, there will be demos on-site, or there will also be the option to hike or snowshoe up and back down. In the singles event, the participant’s lap will be counted after every trip up and down. In the team version, team members will take turns doing laps in any way they see fit. NEK Endurance will be donating much of the proceeds from registration to the Lyndon Outing Club to help them continue their mission of providing low-cost skiing to the Northeast Kingdom community.
NEK Endurance will have a hydration station, and there will be food, music, and plenty of cheering. Participants are encouraged to bring camp chairs/coolers and whatever they need to set up outside their cars during the event. The venue is perfect for spectators to pull up a lawn chair and enjoy the festivities. Costumes are encouraged!
Mountain Ops Stowe will bring the stoke and demos for anyone who wants to test out some lightweight uphill gear!
The Spicy Spoke will be cheffing up some incredible breakfast food to fuel your engine for the adventure ahead!
Kingdom Kreperie will serve Farm to Finger Crepes to keep you going and fill your bellies after you rock the slopes!
The hope for this event would be to gather as many great people as possible and have a perfect time while pushing our bodies to the brink or just getting some good ole fashion exercise!
The 6-Hour Uphill Bonanza is a family-friendly, community-based endurance event where camaraderie and general positive stoke are the vibes of the day. We will have vendors there and hopefully can create an enjoyable atmosphere for all! Participants will tackle the Lyndonville Outing club hill as often as possible in the 6hr time frame from 10 AM – 4 PM. The hill is about 400 vertical feet and packs a punch for a small ski hill. Whether you are training and want to crush as many laps as possible or cruise up and down a few times, this is the event for you! There will be some prizes and giveaways at the end, and we may also have a sweet raffle!!
Team categories: A team can consist of skiers, hikers, or a combination of both!
Duo- Two person
